NON FICTION:

Compositional Strategies in "Words for the Dead" - The written portion of my Honors Thesis, it was awarded the mark of "Pass with Distinction" from the WSU Honors College in 2004. It examines my chamber opera, Words for the Dead, and how I used motive and reoccurence to create a deeper level of coherence.

The Use of Silence in "The Mask of Time" - A paper that examines Michael Tippett's mammoth work, The Mask of Time, and how he incorporates silence in a variety of metaphoric and structural ways.
